ECTS Points

Modules

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

The curriculum and its assessments are based on European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). ECTS are awarded on the basis of the average amount of study required for the successful completion of a module. This includes preparation and follow-up work for the modules, and the time needed to prepare for examinations and produce written work. The workload is measured in hours. The greater the module's workload, the higher the number of credits. ECTS does not establish a direct link between the difficulty of a module and the number of credits.

To obtain credits, students have to successfully participate in classes or lectures. Credit points are only awarded if assessed work is completed and passed. Allocation of credits to modules is dependent on the workload required for the modules. One credit point equals a workload of 30 hours of study.

The teaching content are divided into various modules.

Modules and Modularisation

Modules are a group of classes that focus on a certain subject or content. A module therefore constitutes a self-contained learning unit with a specific content and taking place over a specific period of time, which is made up of different classes. The teaching content is set forth in the following module descriptions. Module supervisors are allocated, but changes may occur.
